No matter what I am going through, when I take my "time out" with God and study His words and my devotions, He always speaks to me. I love to communicate with God in this way. How amazing that He takes the time to speak to my heart.
The last two days my "lessons" that I am supposed to be learning from God are about peace. To not worry and stress, but let God's peace fill my heart. I have not been doing very well :). When I am sitting on the deck with my Bible and my God this is soooo easy. I can feel His presence and my heart is full. When someone is on the other end of the phone calling you lazy, abusive, and a bad parent it feels impossible. When the baby will not stop crying or the kids just will not eat their dinner it feels impossible. How we handle this is a choice that we make. We are called to be one with Christ Jesus. We are meant to have the peace that Jesus gives. (Colossians 3:15) It is within us if Christ is within us. Let that peace control you, your thoughts and your actions. Take a moment, step back from the situation, tell the person on the phone you have to call them back. Soak up God's peace and then tackle the situation again. You will find that you will handle the situation better and things will go a lot more smoothly.
