Jesse's grandparents, Paul and Joyce Benham, are amazing! They are in their 80's and as we speak they are in Hondouras doing God's work. I know Gram, she would say that it is by God's strength, and not their own, that they can do all of these amazing things. Glory to God! How awesome that He can use us to do such amazing things!
Gram told a story Saturday that just saddened my heart, but at the same time amazed me! Lindberg is a Pastor where Gram and Gramps do thier missionary work. One night, there was a lot of noise and commotion coming from outside the house where they were all staying. Lin went outside to see what was going on. There was a huge container truck outside with a lady standing beside it. She was the owner of a liquor store. Lin told her that "it was not very sensitive of her to do that in the middle of the night." She knew that Lin was a pastor and she repented and said that she was sorry. Lin began talking to her about the Lord and tried to bring her to salvation. The lady refused saying that she was not ready to commit her life to Jesus.
On Friday "bandits" came into her store, stole all of her money and unfortuantely shot and killed her. This sad and tragic story has two very important messages:
Message 1
The moral of the story is that we never know when our last day on earth is going to happen and Jesus said, "Today is the day of Salvation" - Joyce Benham
Message 2
God loves us so much that He will chase us down to bring us to salvation, though the choice is our to accept or refuse. God knows the moment we are to leave this earth and He loves us so much that we are offered the gift of salvation so that we can spend eternity with Him!
God knew what was about to happen to this lady on Friday night. He wanted to offer her another chance to accept His wonderful inviation. So He lined up all of the cards so that she would be making a bunch of racket outside of a Pastor's house!!! What an amazing God! How He must love her! He loves each of you the same. Every time someone talks to you about Jesus and salvation, know that God has moved Heaven and Earth to bring that message to you!
Now we know that this lady refused salvation at the time that Lin talked with her, but we also know that she left there with the most valuable of information! In her last moments I am sure that God called out to her again, and I pray that this time she did not refuse.
