Here is something that I am doing with my boys and if you like the ideal then you are more than welcome to use it. I have all boys and I want them to grow up with a strong Christian faith. I want them to lead their households in Bible Study and pray and just be wonderful Spiritual Leaders. I talk with the boys about all of this and they know that this is something that God expects out of them. To help them prepare for this I have them doing their own Bible Study of sorts. Each day they are to read a chapter of the Bible and then they are to answer some questions based on what they read, in a journal. This is good for many reasons. 1st it really helps them to pay more attention to what they are reading. 2nd it helps their writting and reading skills. 3rd because they are paying more attention to what they are reading and thinking about what they are reading they are learning more about the Bible. They are learning to intrepret the Bible and really think about what all of it means and what it means to them and their lives. I check their journals to make sure that they are on the right track and I will also go over things with them. If they are getting sloppy then I will make sure that they are doing it all right. I just feel that this reinforces Bible learning and that is also prepares them to begin doing this on their own. I will not always be there to say, "Hey, did you read your Bible today." I want this to become a habit for them now.
